Father's Day

Every Man's Dream for Father's Day!

We had a truly awesome Father's Day spent with both sides of the family!  It was wonderful and we will be doing it again some time soon!  We are truly so blessed to have such awesome families.  I love this man more than life itself and he is a better father than I could have ever imagined for my girls!

Let's catch up a bit.....

It has been over a year since I have written on here and holy smokes my girls have grown up so much it makes me want to cry! So many things have happened in the past year.  The girls stayed at a new "day care" this and year and have become best friends with a little boy named Jamison Carter. They are literally the three amigos!  They also went to 2 year old preschool this year and made many new friends.  They attended many sporting events with me this year and absolutely loved every second of it.  At football practice they never ceased to amaze me, between tackling each other and trying their hardest to push the sled, they feel in love with a few high school boys that they think hung the moon!  Basketball games were the best because it half time Gabriella, Isabella, Jamison and Carter owned the placed and always provided some very entertaining dancing.  We also signed the girls up for BlastBall this year (prequel to Tee Ball).  They seemed to love practice for about 10-15 minutes and the other 30 minutes was like trying to get a dog to pay attention to fake bacon. LOL Their first game everyone in the whole family came and they would not do anything.  Eric and I had to hold them and run around the bases.  Needless to say they were a little shell shocked by the crowd that had not been at their practices.  The other two games they did wonderful!  We are hoping to sign up for Soccer or "Nastics" as they say (gymnastics) for the fall of the year.  The girls current obsession is Beauty and the Beast.  My high school students put it on as a play in the spring of the year and they have been mesmerized every since.  We have truly watched the DVD of the play everyday this entire summer.  Both of the girls have pretty much memorized the entire thing and sing every song.  Isabella is hysterical because she holds her arms up as she sings just like she is performing on Broadway.  Each day with these too is a true blessing, hard work and never a dull moment!  I hope to update much more often from this point on.

Labbe Road Trip 2011

So, yes we are crazy and we are driving to Connecticut to visit Eric's family!!! Right around 19 hours and 1,000 miles :) We have roughly 800 more miles to go and I can already tell this is a trip for memories to be made on! We stopped about three times within the first hour... Isabella said she had to poop. We stop get both girls out because Gabriella has to suddenly poop now an head into the store. It was closing! We load back up and head across the street to another gas station. Everyone gets out and Isabella squeezes out want Eric would call a mouse terd! LOL She tells us her belly feels so much better :) We get back in the car and the girls want a pillow so I dig out their handy dandy neck pillows. Isabella had three huge tags on it and she is my picky child so I go to rip the tag off... BAM! Instant snow in the swagger wagon in May! So what to I have Eric go in and get to repair the rip, good 'ol Duct Tape (dad you would be proud)! Patch the hole right up an away we go!!! About 45 mins later Gabriella starts panicking and says she peed. To save time Eric an I decide I can just unbuckle the bottom latch on the car seat and pull he diaper off an slide another one on. I open the sides up on her pull up and go to pull it out....BAM instant snow slush! LOL The diaper ripped and all of the tiny super absorbent polymer (chemistry word) is everywhere, filled with pee might I add. I manage to get it cleaned up and Gabby changed with no stopping and here we are about 30 mins later two sleeping babies and about to make it into our third state!!!!! I am sure there will be more stories to come :)

Kids Say the Darndest Things!

Two quick stories from this past weekend.  Eric and I went to a couples baby shower on Saturday night and the girls stayed with Grams and Mr. Joe.  When we picked them up on Sunday Gabriella says, "Mommy did you and Daddy go to the baby shower?"  I said, "Yes, Miss Lindsay's belly is getting so big!"  Gabriella says, (with a super serious face) "Did you and Daddy get wet?"  Eric and I laughed so hard.  I remember this was a very confusing thing for me as a child too!  I did not understand why anyone would want to go to a shower with lots of other people.

The next day Isabella took a huge poop pee in the potty... Yay!!!  For some reason our children call their poop "alligators".  So, later that day Gabriella tells Eric that Isabella's alligators went to see Jesus!  Our girls are hilarious and make us laugh so hard everyday!!!  They are quite the singers too constantly serenading us with many many songs from "wheels on the bus" to "How Great is Our God"!  They are precious and remind us to count our blessings everyday!!!

Hilarious

The girls spent the day with Grams and Mr. Joe so Eric and I were very excited to see them when they got home!!!  We got dinner ready and Isabella, Gabriella, and Eric were sitting at the table getting ready to eat.  I had just sat two bowls of cous cous on the table for the girls and told them it was hot.  I went back into the kitchen to get drinks and when I came back to the table Isabella was eating her cous cous with a huge silicone oven mit on!!  I said, "Eric what is she doing...?", he says, "she says it hot!"  I about wet my pants I was laughing so hard.  What a smart girl!!!

Outing with the girls!

So I decided to take the girls with me last night to go watch the BHS One Act Play (only 30 mins).  Well of course we arrived right after the play had started and we were there for about five minutes when this precious little voice says, "I need to go potty!", and then the other precious little voice chimed in, "I need to go potty too!".  Off we went.  We had to walk all the way around the back of the room all the way to the front of the room and exit to the right of the stage to go to the potty.  However, both girls were very quiet and were amazed by the potty at Momma's School that flushes itself! :)  When we got back both girls sat and watch the entire play and as soon as it was over Isabella shouted "Game Over!"  They are hysterical and we have the best times together.

Side note just so I don't forget 10 years down the road when the girls take a Poop on the potty they tell us they are making an Alligator... LOL.  I have no idea where they got that one from.  On the potty note they are doing so good right now using the potty.  It will be amazing when we have no more pull ups!!  I cannot believe it has went by so fast.  Another funny potty story we went to watch one of Lexi's Basketball games last week and both girls had to go to the potty multiple times so after about our third trip we were walking back up the bleachers to sit down and my mom ask Isabella did you go potty and she says very loud and proud, "No, I just farted!"  What little ladies I have.  I am sure it made my Dad's skin crawl because he does not like the "F" word.

It's Been too long

So I promise I am going to try and update the blog more often.  Otherwise I am never going to remember all of these precious stories.  Two quick stories.... Last week some time I was getting ready for work and both of the girls were hanging out in my bedroom with me.   They were dressed and we had just finished putting their shoes on.  I was fixing my hair and Isabella says, "Mommy I want some gum!"  I said o.k. let's wait until I finish getting ready.  Then I notice that Gabriella is smacking away on a piece of gum and I say, "Gabby where did you get that gum?"  She says, "Off of Izzy Shoe!!!"  I was laughing so hard.  I could just barely tell her to spit it out.  FYI they had not wore those shoes in quite some time! Ewww.  They are precious!

Too Funny

So my Mom keep the girls a couple of nights ago and Gabriella had a terrible diaper the next morning!  When I was changing her I said, "Gabby what did Grammies feed you?"....she looked right at me and matter factly said, "Dinner!"  They are both getting sooo funny everyday!

It has been way too long

I know I know I have not written on her in forever!  I promise I will get better.  The girls will be two in November and these photos were taken shortly after their first birthday!  It has went by way too fast.  They are getting so big and doing so many cute things it is amazing!  This morning I told Gabriella I loved her and she said, "Thanks!"  They are so precious.  Both of the girls are working on potty training currently.  Gabby and Izzy both pooped and peed in the potty this morning.  However, Isabella got up before she was completely finished and laid a terd in the bathroom floor.  Eric totally freaked out!  He cannot handle the poop thing he scared her to death.

Talking, Talking, Talking

Gabriella and Isabella both are talking up a storm.  It is so funny when I go pick them up most babies would say "Mommy" but no Gabriella says "Hey Baby!".  Thanks to her Dad.  It is hilarious.  This is what he always says when he comes home.  Also Gabriella has started to say "Bless you"  when you sneeze it is the cutest.  Isabella is still not talking as much but she is working on it.  They both have such big hearts you can already tell.  When I give one child a sippy cup she waits until I give her another one so that she can take it to "sissy".  They will do the same thing with blankets if Isabella gets a blanket she will look around until she finds another one to take to "sissy".  It is precious they are just growing up way too fast!

So little Time

I cannot believe that my girls are about to be 15 months old.  Where does all the time go?  Gabriella and Isabella continue to light up my world every day.  They are talking up a storm now.  Gabriella more than Isabella but I think Isabella's stopped up ears are to blame for this.  Gabriella will call her sister.."Issee"  it is the cutest thing you have ever heard.  They also both affectionately call Odell "Bubba" (for those of you that don't know Odell is our 5 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier).  It has not gotten any easier taking them to daycare every morning.  I could just snuggle up and play all day with them!  Plus they have started walking themselves into day care.  They want me to put them down and they go strutting down the hall like "Yea look at me, I'm walking, I'm walking!"  They both love to sing and seem to want to be female wrestlers.  Isabella is all the time tackling Gabriella and putting her in the choke hold.  Look out Bremen High School...no one will mess with the Labbe/Pruitt girls!  I have a feeling they will rule the school when Macie is a Senior, Ella a Junior and Gabby & Izzy Sophmores!

Funny Story

So this week has been amazing at the Labbe house. Eric has been home all week and we have been sending the girls to day care for part of the day so we have really have got a lot done around the house. This morning Eric was getting the girls ready to go and I was helping him. He gave the girls their brand new toothbrushes from Grammies and he started to sing the "Brushy, Brushy" song from Grease. I was watching as Eric and my precious daughters were brushing their teeth...not uncommon something they do every morning before I go to work. Then I hear Eric say, "Isabella you have toothpaste all over your mouth." I think to myself that is funny because their toothpaste is clear. I say to Eric, "Did you give them adult toothpaste??" He says no whatever is in this tube right here. Well turns out Dad likes to brush the girls teeth with hand lotion!! HA HA HA Eric and I laughed so hard we almost died. The girls were even giggling too!

Christmas Time

The girls are growing so fast! I cannot believe we are about to celebrate our 2nd Christmas together it is totally unbelievable. They continue to amaze me everyday. They are both walking all over the place and it is adorable to see. Both girls are bow legged just like their Daddy. Eric has been out of town working for a month in a half or so and he has been back for about two weeks now and it is such a blessing to have him home! Gabby and Izzy both talk up a storm. Gabby talks more than Izzy but we think that is because Isabella had so much fluid on her ears until just recently and she finally got tubes. She seems to be a whole new baby. They say Mama, Dada, Pops a ru, Bubba, uh oh, juice, ahola, hello, bye, bu bye, toot toot, and my personal favorite do do! They have many other words that they attempt to say. They are so funny together. They have gotten to where they will chase each other around the house and Isabella will tackle Gabriella it is hilarious. They play well together most of the time. Isabella does seem to be our little fireball. She is a head butter and a slapper. She can also pitch some pretty dramatic fits...I have no idea where she gets the drama. Also Isabella has the best toothy grin ever it just melts your heart. Gabriella does not pitch too many fits but when she gets mad enough she will make herself pass out. Because of this we recently had to take her to Scottish-rite (Children's hospital in Atlanta) to have an EEG and make sure she is o.k. We do not have the results yet though but are expecting them tomorrow or Wednesday. So keep us in your prayers. I am pretty confident she is just holding her breath but we will see. There are so many new things to tell about the girls I do not know where to go next...I will end the post by saying that the girls new fun game is to get into Odell's kennel and hide. They love it and just totally crack up when you find them.

My babies are growing up

I know I am getting really bad at this. The girls are growing up so fast it is crazy. Gabriella has begain to take some steps but she still prefers to crawl. Isabella has not really taken any steps yet but I am sure it will be any day now. They continue to bless Eric and I day in and day out. They have mastered saying "Da Da" which they seem to perfer over "Ma Ma". They also like to say "Uh oh" and "bu Bye". They enjoy waving to everyone as well. They seem to be the little Labbe welcoming committee every time we go some where. We took them to the homecoming parade and they waved to everyone in the parade the entire time it was adorable. They continue to very mischevious. Gabriella will empty out a kitchen cabinet and then Isabella will get into the cabinet.

It has been a while

These are some pictures we had taken of the girls in July! They are both getting so big now it is crazy. They both have been teething like crazy. Gabriella has 6 teeth and Isabella has 6 too! They are still crawling all over the place and are fast as lightning. They seem to be trying to walk but I am not helping them in anyway. Both girls will wave and say bye now as well as mama, dada and uh oh. They just might be the two cutest girls in the world. They make Eric and I laugh everyday and I still cannot believe how much God has blessed us. Both of the girls are now in daycare and they seem to be loving it! They usually go right to the people in the morning and wave bye to me. No crying for these girls. They are going to be very mischievous too. Gabriella loves to open and close doors and Isabella is very curious. It is quite the combination. Gabriella opened the kitchen cabinet the other day and Isabella climbed right in...so Gabriella shut her in the cabinet. I opened the door and she was just sitting there grinning. Gabriella also does this crazy spin move that totally cracks Eric and I up. She will be sitting on her booty and she will do a full 360. It is hilarious...who knows maybe she will be a break dancer. She has also started making the most awful face thanks to Grammies Pruitt. Both girls love to go to church they totally rock out during praise and worship it just makes you want to bust into tears. Last Sunday Gabriella danced and held up her hands the entire praise and worship I have to imagine that such pure innocent worship melts Jesus' heart. I have to think that that is exactly how he would like us all to worship. It is crazy that our own children are strengthening our walk with Christ. I pray everyday that I can give these girls all they need spiritually and physically because they have already given Eric and I more than we could ever imagine. What a true blessing from above!

Vacation in Florida

We left on Sunday night to head to Panama City and the girls did wonderful they slept the entire way!!! We have had two awesome days and Gabriella and Isabella continue to bring so much joy to our lives. They did not like the ocean too well and don't seem to care much for the sand but they do love the swimming pool and the lazy river. They also have a baby pool where we are staying with a soft bottom and Gabriella crawls all over the place in it. All the while water will be squirting all in her face and she does not seem to mind!!! Today is their 8 month Birthday and I still cannot believe they are that old. It is crazy how fast time flies. Eric and I feel like Brad and Angelina on vacation because when we come to the pool everyone just stops and stares. Who can blame them we might have the cutest set of twin girls around. I am going to post some beach pictures of the girls later today. Their cousins Macie, Ella, and Lexi have had a blast with them this week and we are so truly blessed to have such an amazing family!

Crazy Times

The girls are both growing so fast and doing so much it is really hard to keep up. They are both crawling at lightening speed now and they are in to everything. Gabriella has discovered Odell's dog bowl this past week so if you turn your head for a second she will be going to town in his water bowl. Isabella has become quite the wild child. She is usually pretty loud and loves to knock her sister over, crawl on her, tackle her and steal whatever she is playing with. They both have two teeth on the bottom that are all the way through and do not appear to be getting anymore quite yet. Also both girls have decided they do not want to sleep all night anymore which is running me very ragged. They are up and down all night long and they seem to want to eat at night. Which I have decided is a bad habit to get in so I am going to do whatever I have to to get them back to sleep without nursing because at this point they should not need a night feeding. Both girls love the pool and would stay outside all day long if you would let them. They seem to be getting little personalities now. Gabriella seems like she is going to be the "mommy" of the two. She is very gentle with her sister and is always checking to make sure she is o.k. Isabella is the exact opposite and seems to always want to be the "wild child"! They really notice each other now too and look for the other one if they are not together. They also like to be touching each other as much as possible. Both girls seem to be getting a little separation anxiety when I leave them now. However they stayed with Erin and Olivia (two beautiful grown girls I use to babysit...man I am old) for a couple of hours last week and loved it!!! I will have to get some new pictures up soon. Their hair seems to be growing pretty quickly now and Isabella is losing her mohawk. We are very excited as a family because on Sunday evening we will be leaving to go on our first real family vacation to Florida...so wish us luck and say a little prayer for our ride there and back!

In High Gear

The girls are all over the place and seem to be getting faster and faster. This week they have both figured out that they can crawl out of their room and into new rooms. So as soon as you turn your head they run for the door. Yesterday I was trying to change Gabriella and Isabella kept trying to grab the diaper rash cream. I got it out of her hands and then she started trying to touch Isabella's butt with the cream on it. So while trying to move Isabella, Gabriella gets up and starts crawling away naked with diaper cream every where. I retrieve Gabriella and begin to put her diaper on while Isabella is now trying to tackle her and lay on her belly...then the diaper breaks. As you can see some thing as simple as diaper changing becomes a daunting task! I started laughing so hard just thinking about how funny we all looked I could have peed in my pants. Gotta love these girls!

Precious Moments

I cannot believe how fast our girls are growing up. It just makes me want to cry! Last night I was just thinking about all of the simple things I enjoy about them being little. When they are nestled up against your neck falling asleep and you can feel the warmth of ever breath they take. When I feed them and they gently rub my breast, play with my hair or grab each others hands as they eat. The soft touch of their little fingers on my cheeks when they look up into my eyes. Their priceless gummy smile that is fading away as they get teeth. Their cute little fat legs that are quickly gaining muscle as they begin to stand more and more. Their sweet little bald spots that have disappeared as they grow more and more hair. How they will still hold on to just one of your fingers with all of their might. When I pick them up at the end of the day how they began to breath rapidly and bounce on their legs because they are excited to see me. That awful face they made the first time they tasted real food. The way their eyes light up every time their Daddy comes home or their precious giggle when you tickle their belly. These are the little things I will miss as they get bigger and bigger. I just wish I could make time stand still for a week or so.
